Meet the Team - Our Trainers:

At Welltrain, we have a diverse and experienced team. Instructors are drawn from a pool of consulting industry specialists within the petroleum industry worldwide, and are certified with IWCF and IADC. Our trainers work together to cover classroom and simulator segments, with each course offering participants a balance of oil field experience and educational practice. Our courses are structured to include a classroom and a simulator instructor.

Dave Pollock, Training Manager
Dave has experience as a drilling and well control trainer at all levels, working in the North Sea and Caspian regions. He develops client-specific and advanced training courses and training materials. His industry experience includes cementing, well intervention, Coiled Tubing Drilling, HPHT and Deep Water Well Control consulting and training. Dave was one of the original founders of Welltrain and has put together a team who have a similar passion for training. 		Kevin Alcock, Senior Instructor
Kevin brings 40 years of operational, supervisory and training experience in the oil industry in supervisor and superintendent roles in offshore and onshore. drilling and well intervention in oil, gas and HPHT geothermal wells. He has developed and implemented systems and training related to safety and risk management, work permits gas and oil processing.
John Wrenn, Senior Instructor
John is an experienced drilling supervisor, OIM and trainer in well control and stuck pipe prevention. His industry experience includes working as a driller, OIM and drilling supervisor on land, platform,jack-up, semi-submersible rigs and drillships.		 Harry Malins, Instructor
As a current Toolpusher working in the North Sea, Harry brings valuable operational experience to our training team. He has prior training experience in Australia and the UK. Married with a young family, Harry is developing his skills onshore as trainer. His association with Welltrain is part of the ongoing expansion of our business here in Australia and Overseas.

Our Simulator and Specialist Trainers..

Kevin Gordon, Simulator Trainer
Kevin has 45 years of oilfield experience. Working both onshore and offshore as Drilller, Toolpusher, and OIM. Kevin's drilling experience is a valued addition to our team. From starting with Reading and Bates in 1971 to his recent departure from Pride International, Kevin has worked for all the major contractors. This wealth of experience is now being passed on to the next generation of drilling professionals.

Peter (Pedro) Johns, Simulator Trainer
A hands on drilling professional with 30+ years experience in the international oil and gas industry. Pedro started his career on the rig floor and has progressed to Senior Day Drilling Supervisor. He has experience with many rig types and has worked for major operators in the Middle East, United Kingdom, China, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.

Keith Ratnam, Trainer
Normally working as a consultant drilling engineer, Keith comes with over 25 years of oilfield experience, having started in the industry as a mudlogger for Schlumberger Anadrill in the mid 80's. Now an Australian national, Keith was born in Malayasia and speaks Malay a fluently.		 Richard Clements, Specialist Trainer
Richard has specialised in the management of drilling and completion fluids and drilling waste for the past 37 years. He spent 20 years working offshore internationally as a Senior Mud Engineer with all types of drilling fluids and for 4 years was MD of an Aberdeen service company analysing drilling waste management issues. In 2010 Richard has developed and presented Advanced Drilling Fluids Training Courses on behalf of Welltrain.
Ole Moller, Trainer
A degree qualified Engineer, from The University of Calgary, Ole's extensive experience as a drilling professional extends over 40+ years inthe oil and gas industry within Canada, Iran, SE Asia Australia and New Zealand. Ole is highly valued as a Simulator Instructor and a popular member of the Welltrain team.

Mushvig Shikhalizadeh, Drilling Instructor
Mushvig has over 24 year experience. Working in Engineering,Management and Stratecic Planning. Mushvig strengths include invaluable experience with DS5000, DS600, DS500 and DS50 Simulators. Also experienced in drilling and training delivery in territory of Former Soviet Union and Basra Iraq, as an Azerbaijani national, apart from Azeri, Mushvig also speaks Russian, English and some Turkish and is a welcome member to our team.

Doug Nixon Smith, Trainee Simulator Trainer
Graduating from Curtin University with Bachelor of Mechanical Enginnering with Honours, Doug is the newest member of our team. With over 25 years experience, Doug started out as a Driller with Atwood Oceanics and has since worked in a variety of roles and organisations within the oil industry. Amongst his many talents, Doug also completed a Diploma in Journalism and Media and holds a certificate in Cartooning and Illustrating.

Their common mission to provide support to our customers and to make Welltrain the leading provider of training in drilling and well servicing in Australia and Overseas.

Lesley Kenyon, Training Coordinator
Lesley is your key contact person, dealing with course enrolments, scheduling and information about training courses and locations. She ensures your certification meets the appropriate international requirements.

 Tom Brand, Managing Director.
Tom oversees the development of Welltrain in its quest to become the leading provider of training in oil and gas industry. His experience includes drilling management, project management and the management of Labrador Petro-Management (LPM), a leading consulting company to the oil and gas industry.

In the Boardroom…..

Dan Smith, Chris Wilson, Greg Crum, John Ryan and Andy Banks are Directors of Welltrain. They are all consulting Oilfield specialists who bring over 100 years of international oilfield experience to Welltrain, are active in promoting Welltrain, and are shaping it to meet the needs of the industry. Dan and Chris bring their drilling and project management skills from LPM.
